Job Responsibilities

KS2 (Age 8 - 10) Home Room Teacher

  • We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic teachers to teach the Cambridge Curriculum for Key Stage 2. The Home Room teacher has responsibility for teaching English, Maths, Science, PSHE, Geography and History. A knowledge of Jolly Grammar or Jolly Phonics is an advantage.
  • We expect our teachers to plan and deliver lessons to achieve progression in the Cambridge Curriculum.
  • Teachers should have experience of identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed; setting tasks which challenge pupils and ensure high levels of interest; setting appropriate and demanding expectations; providing clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge; making effective use of assessment and ensure coverage of programmes of study; and using a variety of teaching methods. You should also be a strong classroom manager, with the ability to make learning fun and improve children's confidence with their studies. In addition, flexibility, resilience, adaptability and commitment to working as part of a team is essential.
  • We are looking for teachers who have a mindset of improvement and who are committed to professional growth and development. In return we can offer a planned programme of continuing professional development, and opportunities for development in a rapidly expanding Primary School.

 

English OR Maths OR Science (Year 5 and 6 - Age 10 - 12) Teacher

  • We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic teachers to teach the Cambridge Curriculum for Key Stage 2. The Teacher will have responsibility for either English, Maths or Science to prepare students for the Cambridge Checkpoint.
  • We expect our teachers to plan and deliver lessons to achieve progression in the Cambridge Curriculum.

KS1/2 Music Teacher / Speech and Drama Teacher

  • We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual with a real passion and enthusiasm for promoting music / Speech and Drama with Primary Level children.  You should have experience of teaching music or Speech and Drama in a Primary School with relevant qualifications in music/Speech and Drama, and be able to challenge, inspire and motivate all children to learn.
  • We teach in line with the English National Curriculum and Cambridge Objectives. A working knowledge of this framework is required.
  • You should also be a strong classroom manager, with the ability to make music fun and improve children's confidence with music/ Speech Drama. In addition, flexibility, resilience, adaptability and commitment to working as part of a team is essential.

Job responsibilities

  • Teaching all areas of the curriculum;
  • Organising the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment;
  • Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class;
  • Organising and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place;
  • Motivating students with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation

Prerequisites

  • Minimum ordinary degree in a relevant area, with at least 3 years of teaching experience
  • A post-graduate Certificate or Diploma qualification in Education
  • Excellent command of oral and written English
  • Passionate about Teaching & Learning with a genuine desire to work with students
